Windows Power Management allows for two power management modes,one for the internal battery and one for the AC Adapter power, or external power. Other settings which will maximize the PowerPad's use are: 3. 0 simulation software and has achieved 16 hours of run-time,withthe notebook's Windows 95 Power Management set to its most efficient battery use. Our internal tests indicate that the PowerPad160 has approximately 160 watt-hours of energy capacity and enables users to run most laptops for 12 to 16 hours, compared to single batteries typically installed in portable computers, which generally have between 30-40 watt hours and 2 to 4 hour run-times. Their tablet PC offerings clearly take sides. Unlike the other tablet PCs on the market, the new HP TPC 1000 doesn't take sides. Mr. Homer, the mechanical program manager for the tablet PC, experienced these challenges first hand as soon as the project kicked off three years ago. While retaining the full power to run all existing Windows-based software applications, the Tablet PC expands enterprise computing to address previously unmet needs such as the ability to take notes at meetings, annotate existing electronic documents and presentations, and read on screen easily. The Tablet PC technology enables any Windows-based application to take advantage of pen-based input. They all ship with an extended version of Microsoft's operating system called Windows XP for Tablet PC. As the Tablet PC starts moving into the field, you'll start hearing such terms as Digital Pen & Ink, Gestures, Sticky Notes, Windows Journal, Character Recognizer, and Inkball.
