Trust Bourgneuf industries with any complicated production task. Bending is a process by which metal can be deformed by bending machines by plastically deforming the material and changing its shape. The material is stressed beyond the yield strength but below the ultimate tensile strength. The surface area of the material does not change much. Bending usually refers to deformation about one axis. In sheet metal bending, the work pieces that can be used are bent over the total length. Metal sheet thickness from 0,5 mm to 20 mm can be processed. To stretch a sheet of metal, stretch bending is used to make shape required by using clamps on the sides of the sheet. The metal sheet is then stretched through the movement of the stamping machine. Bending is a flexible process by which many different shapes can be produced. Standard die sets are used to produce a wide variety of shapes. The material is placed on the die, and positioned in place with stops and/or gages. It is held in place with hold-downs. The upper part of the press, the ram with the appropriately shaped punch descends and forms the v-shaped bend. Sheets metal bending is only one of the steps used in sheet metal fabrication. In this first step, an angle is used to create no-parallel faces. The second step involves the punching, shearing and blanking of the metal sheet that involves cutting off major portion of the material by inserting the material in shear. Then comes the forming, spinning, stamping, and embossing of the sheet metal to complete the process.
